George completed his house in 1996.  The entry hall, Roman in spirit, has a swimming pool under a glass roof, surrounded by an arcade.  The drawing room is modeled on a Byzantine church, with four columns supporting a dome.  Doors open up to bedrooms off the sides.  George made extensive use of salvaged materials, including old Charleston porch columns, and marble paneling from a local bank.  Because the house is low and shaded, with thick walls, it naturally stays cool in the summer.   In the winter, heat is provided by the huge fireplace.
